Ottapalam was once the lucky location of Malayalam cinema, the birthplace of many hit movies. But in recent times, Thodupuzha, the border town of Ernakulam district and Idukki district, has become known as the lucky location of Malayalam cinema. The beautiful landscape of Idukki and the basic amenities required for city life has made Thodupuzha so popular among filmmakers. Moreover, all the successes of the films have made along with Thodupuzha called itself a lucky movie location.
Ilaveezhapoonchira is a natural wonder located on the upper part of Thodupuzha. This is a rare top station where you can see the areas of Idukki, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts together. A top station full of everything you need to attract an adventurous traveller with its cool breeze, fog, off-roading and lots of trekking spots.

Ride to the mount top.
So without any plans, I and my friend Sethu pitched our tent to Ilavizhapoonchira. We made our trip to a weekend getaway because it’s time for people with work and wages to go through, so it’s not too busy on the hilltop. When we reached the end of the road from Kanjar to Ilavizhapoonchira, one thing came to mind and now there is no great work to be said to all because the base of the Ilaveezhapoonjira was full of people.

Some couples have arrived on bikes and cars with some formalities like showing up to the locals. Gentlemen who have learned to live a little and who are afraid of cars are rushing to park their cars and bikes below and get into a row of off-road jeeps. Some extraordinarily brave and arrogant scholars scornfully look at the gentlemen and who get into the jeep and board their Himalayan Express. All in all, when we went in, there was a total rush at the base of Ilavizhapoonchira.

The poor car owners who ask how the road is and the couple who did not watch the movie Charlie who came on the bike are horribly intimidated and dragged into the off-road jeep. Considering the ego of the Himalayan and Xpulse riders with us and the hopeful looks of some of the girls who have seen our outfit, we have come to such a conclusion that we do not need a jeep.

What an amazing welcome party.
So our off-road venture started and we got some relief from the broken road for some distance but after that the road itself became non-existent. It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring. I enjoy off-road riding and accompanying Sethu obviously enjoying trekking, and as we go along, adventurers and heavy travellers will easily ride to the hilltop with their bikes. Needless to say, some of the Thar, Endeavor owners looked at us pitifully as we drove up and down the hill from time to time and passed by declaring their solidarity. And so our ride end came as if everything had an end. We went to the hilltop.

I started shivering in the cold wind. My friend who came after the trek was almost like that. Everyone drinks coffee from a small shop there as an offering in a way that is a must for everyone who comes here. So we also took part in that action. It’s a luxury to sip a cup of coffee and have a hot omelette in the bitter cold at the top of the snow-capped mountain. It was only later that I realized that the coffee and omelettes in this small shop were not the only things that attracted people to this place. Coffee Shop It’s only a matter of timepass for this man before he owns a resort called Poonchira Resort. very nearby the top station The friendship with Aneesh Chettan has completely changed our night plan.

Our plan was to tent outside on any rock. But Aneesh chettan add one piece of advice, To put it bluntly, this is not a place where you can get a good view of the rest of the resort. It was a one and a half place. As we have been dreaming for a long time, it was possible to tent next to a mountain bike with a view from the top of a mountain where there is no one private. The view of the below towns Kudayathur, Kolapra and Moolamattom, which have captivated the hearts of the audience through their many films including Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada are spread out below. When the last traveller came down the hill, we truly recognize and enjoyed the quiet beauty of nature.

Dreamy tenting.
The views of the next morning were truly breathtaking. The snow-capped mountains of Ilaveezhapoonchira became clear with the arrival of the sun and welcomed the new day.
Trekked up to Elaveezhapoonchira to the location of the Kerala Police Radio Station, which resembles Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas. When we reached the bottom we saw the distant view of Poonchira built by the Pancha Pandavas for Panchali.
After the morning trek, we reached Anesh chettan shop the nice hot puttu and curry brought from Aneesh Chettan’s house were ready with him. After eating all that, We said a big thank you and bye to Aneesh Chettan we also said bye to Elaveezhapoonchira for the time being.
